Police investigate Pretoria investment company for fraud
June 14, 2003

By Staff Reporter

The South African Police Service is investigating allegations of fraud against a Pretoria-based broker, Penni Procopos, and her company, Two Ferns Financial Tracking and Investing.

The Financial Services Board has warned consumers that Procopos and her company are not approved to manage investments on behalf of the public, nor to trade on behalf of investors on the
JSE Securities Exchange.

Among other things, Procopos allegedly falsified a letter from the JSE that endorsed her activities as a broker. Procopos is also suspected of mismanaging investors' money.

The investigating officer, Superintendent Japie Kachelhoffer of the Pretoria Commercial Crime Unit, would like to hear from investors who have had dealings with Procopos. His telephone number is (012) 401 3408.
